Barcelona Set to Play Historic Fixture at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Recent Activities
The club conducted an open training session inside the stadium earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued by UEFA to host the next European match versus the German side in December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
