Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.

Healing from Light Wounds

Joshua had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to “recuperate at home”.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.

Honoring the Deceased

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the passing of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health arrives after the boxing community offered its support for the champion in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
