American-Palestinian Teenager Freed After Nine-Month Period in Israel's Detention

A American-Palestinian youth after completing a nine-month period in Israel's custody absent formal charges has been freed.
Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 when he was arrested this past winter throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting from his Florida home accused of stone-throwing at Jewish settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.
United States authorities expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.
Now sixteen years old, required hospitalization for treatment immediately after release, relatives told the media.
According to them, he appears showing signs of malnutrition, and experiencing medical problems contracted in captivity.
Via family representatives, family spokesperson conveyed their "overwhelming sense of relief".
Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" during the entire detention period.
"Currently, our priority is ensuring Mohammed receives urgent medical care he requires after being subjected to harsh conditions and brutal treatment for months."
The state department announced ongoing to extend consular services for the Ibrahim family.
{"The Trump Administration considers paramount to the protection and welfare of US citizens"," the department emphasized.
Twenty-seven US lawmakers submitted a formal letter to the state department and the administration, urging greater action to secure his release.
Mr Ibrahim, with four children managing a frozen treats business from Florida, previously said Mohammed acknowledged allegations regarding stone throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.
He had not seen nor direct contact since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively regarding the treatment in detention through court documents.
The teenager remained lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary throughout the occupied territory.
The facility also contains mature inmates, some of whom have been convicted of serious terrorism offences and homicide.
Approximately several hundred young Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli jails, based on prison authority data.
Several lack formal charges along with monitoring agencies, including UN bodies, report instances of abuse and torture.
Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said relatives would persist in advocating seeking justice for their relative family member Sayfollah.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen according to health authorities was beaten to death by radical settlers following tensions last July.
During that period, defense forces stated they were examining accounts of a Palestinian had been killed.
The two cousins were employed together in the family ice cream shop in Tampa, Florida.
No charges have been filed regarding Sayfollah's death.
"We anticipate the American government to protect our families," the uncle stated.
