Aircraft Carrying Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A plane transporting the US defense secretary was required to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane touched down in accordance with established safety measures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a press officer stated in a social media post.
The secretary was coming back from a brief trip to Brussels during the flight.
This occurrence does not mark the first occasion that a US military aircraft transporting a top government figure has experienced mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane carrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to return to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical problem.
